The Fresh Ground Coffeehouse:
April 18th Show!
Nate Smith – Nate Smith, songwriter, plays guitar, harmonica and banjo. Among his many influences, he cites Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, and Joni Mitchell. Nate has been writing & singing his own songs since way back in the 60's, performing in Ann Arbor, Cambridge, Fitchburg, Keene, and elsewhere in the wilds of north Worcester county. Nate has released 4 CDs: Searching For Refuge, Damage Control, Landfall (featuring his famous song "Purgatory Express"), and the most recent, Backdrop Mirage, featuring "Elevator Man" and "Pitchblack Mornings." Catch Nate's tunes at his new ReverbNation site.
Opening for Nate is Nina Vecchi, a wonderful acoustic guitarist and singer. Nina's beautiful voice seems to flow effortlessly. While her first love is guitar, she is a life long musician who has also composed original folk songs and Sound Alchemy, kirtan music using crystal and Himalayan singing bowls.
Our musical host each month is Gardner's own Peter Sargent, whose unique style of Americana includes folk songs, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Steve Goodman, Towns van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, and Lefty Frizzell, among others! Each month Peter will introduce the evening with music and then present the opening act.
